Reservations in private unaided educational institutions

The Parliament has passed the Bill amending the Constitution to provide for reservations in private unaided educational institutions. Minority insitutions, are however, outside the scope of the amendment - a move that has drawn criticism.

Tribal Rights Bill - people against environment?

The proposed Scheduled Tribes (Recognition of Forest Rights Bill) has sparked a battle between environmentalists and tribal rights activists. Will the tribes destroy the forests? Will it be any worse than the corrupt 'management' by forest officers presently? What is the correct balance required?
